New yarns and destash now on etsy

Today, I listed some new yarns. Mostly single plys, but also one Navajo 3ply in merino wool and tencel. Here is a mosaic of the yarns, all of which can be found in my etsy shop HERE. (One note - the last one, the orange/pink one won't be listed until Monday!)

Today I listed 6 new bamboo skeins which will probably be the last bamboo I list for awhile as I really don't have much fiber left and don't plan on another fiber order until August, or maybe even September. Today I listed three new single ply yarns in my etsy shop. They *might* be the last yarns I list for about a week, though I hope to still have a few new things tomorrow and maybe Thursday and Friday, but it will depend. Before I get to the new single plys, here are a couple of other notes -

Indy 500

Even though I don't watch much IRL racing during the rest of the year, I do watch the Indianapolis 500 each year (along with the Miller 200 (or whatever it's called now) that is in Milwaukee). I have actually been there twice - once for the race itself and once for the time trials. Each time it was a road trip with my dad and a couple other people, so I guess the race is one of those father/daughter bonding moments, and I like to watch it because of that history. If I weren't so lazy, I'd dig out the pictures from our trip and scan them in . . . but, not this year.

New yarns - Boho again!

I have three new yarns that I listed today, and two skeins are spun from the "Boho" colorway - this is the same colorway used for the "Squish-tastic!" skeins posted a few days ago! Much darker than the previous version I had of this colorway, I spun in novelty and specialty yarns in shades of orange, pink, fuchsia, and teal/peacock. Each skein is slightly different as I ran out of one my favorite yarns to use after the first skein. So, the second skein has a teal eyelash yarn spun in instead. Happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate - hope your day is filled with good food, family, friends and football? Or whatever else makes it a great day!

Last night while spinning I was trying to compose a "I'm thankful for . . . " post, and it just kept getting either really long-winded and rambly, or just a little too sappy . . .

so, i'm going to sum it up really easily and say - I'm thankful for everything that I have and everything that has happened to get me to this point.

And, since this is my "business" blog, I would like to specifically say that I am really thankful for my wonderful customers, the great people who I've met at shows, those who put on and organize those shows, the online fiber friends I've met, and for being able to wake up every day and spin or knit!

Spinning rampage!

So, I haven't been online as much lately, but oh, I HAVE been spinning! Lots and lots of new yarns, though some have sold, and more are coming! Here are the latest -

FunctionArt - Pink Lemonade - a smaller art yarn skein spun from merino wool with novelty yarns/fibers spun in and plied with thread. Sort of coordinates with the Novel-Ply "Citrus Sun" and I do also plan on having two more skeins in brighter shades of orange, yellow, and pink.

FunctionArt/Batt-tacular! - Aqua Splash! - spun from a carded batt from TerraBellaSpun.


This single ply yarn was spun by me from a blended fiber batt from ButterflyGirlDesigns. It is 67% bamboo, 25% merino wool, and 8% nylon firestar. She called it "The Curtain Dress" inspired by the dress Scarlett O'Hara made from curtains in Gone with the Wind. It is beautiful intense shades of teal, gold, and black.

And, one more FunctionArt/Batt-tacular! yarn - spun from the "Sexy" batt from FeltStudioUK. I just LOVE the colors in this one! Wasn't sure at first the combination would work, but . . . I think it did!
In other news, I officially purchased health insurance today! (For when my job ends at the end of the month.) It is just something I refused to NOT have, so . . . even though it is costly, it will be a good thing knowing I am covered . . .

But, dealing with things like this are really making me start to freak out a little in regards to having no job! I only have 8 days left! I haven't not had a job since . . . god, since I was like, 12?? Okay, those weren't official jobs, but I have been working for a very long time - AND I have been working in libraries since 1990!? How weird will it be not to anymore? Though, I do hope to return to a library at some point - right now I'm thinking/hoping maybe the end of the year or beginning of next . . .

Ah, but who knows. I've got to just take this one day at a time, I think.

Plum Divine and a sale!

In addition to gearing up for the Ravelry ad (that is now running, btw! yay!), I'm also getting ready for a SALE that will be running from April 17-20. I know, once again, that I have been slacking on the blogging front. I hope to get back to a daily or at least every-other-day routine of posting here. Since I spun up almost 2 pounds of fiber this past weekend, I should have lots of new things to share in the upcoming days.

But, today, I want to announce that from now until December 31, 2007, I will have SALE SECTION on my etsy site! (as well as a sale section on my own website).

I will be rotating in selected handspun yarns and reduce their price. These will most likely be older yarns that I have had for awhile and don't think I would be knitting up before the end of the year.
