Two new single ply yarns

Even though I was at my show all day yesterday, I did manage to spin 2 new yarns and have listed them in my etsy shop today - both are spun from Falkland wool hand dyed by Cloudlover.

This one is from her "Rotten Pumpkin" colorway, though I'm calling it "Harvest Night" and it is 158 yards -

And, this one is from her "Decay" colorway, but I've dubbed it "Southwest Rustic" and it is 180 yards -

I spun a couple more today but am not sure I'll get them listed tomorrow, but they will be coming soon. I also have two pairs of wristwarmers, one hat, and four scarves that I hope to list in my Kitty Grrlz Knits etsy shop this week. I've got some custom-spin requests to work on next, but I also hope to have time to get some new yarns spun for my etsy shop, too. We'll see how it goes!

Just a quickie post - here are a few more new yarns, listed today in my etsy shop HERE!

Two skeins of "Summer Mountain Morning" art yarn, and two single plys in luscious BFL wool, "Marchengarten" and "Absinthe". The art yarns are spun with Yarn Wench merino and the singles are from Cloudlover.

Some new yarns, finally!

I managed to get some new yarns listed tonight! Four new single plys. Three are spun from wonderful merino wool/bamboo blend dyed by Cloudlover, and the other is Falkland from the Yarn Wench.

Here is a mosaic of the new skeins, all listed now in my etsy shop -

Here are direct links and more information -

Kitty Singles - A Clockwork Orange - Hand Spun Single Ply Yarn (Falkland Wool) 126 yards, worsted weight

Kitty Singles - Blackberry Sea - Hand Spun Single Ply Yarn (merino wool/bamboo) 152 yards, DK weight

Kitty Singles - Peppermint Twist - Hand Spun Single Ply Yarn (merino wool/bamboo) 162 yards, DK weight

Kitty Singles - Not so Fiendish - Hand Spun Single Ply Yarn (merino wool/bamboo) 126 yards, worsted weight

I know i've been quiet lately, but I'm working on a big custom request, along with having some other distractions at the moment that have been keeping me from my wheel. I hope to have more yarns to list at the end of the week, though, probably on Saturday.

Also - just a note about my shipping charges - I am no longer offering free shipping in my etsy shop, and my international rates have gone up for those outside the USA and Canada, but if you'd like free or discounted shipping EVERY month, please check out my mailing list - you can sign up in the sidebar of this blog, or at the bottom of this page!

AWESOME! new yarns

Okay, I know I shouldn't be so bold as to say that about my own yarns, but every time I look at this batch today, I just think, AWESOME! Maybe it's the variety of colors, or the variety of fibers, or maybe it's that I spun two art yarns yesterday that were really spontaneous (usually I plan them out ahead of time and these two just happened!). For the singles, it could be that finally they seemed to be pretty well-balanced. Anyways, yesterday I spun wool and had a blast! Four new single ply skeins and two new art yarns - the art yarns spun from blended fiber batts. You can see all the new listings in my etsy shop. Here is the mosaic -

FunctionArt/Batt-tacular - Holly Berry Trail - spun from a LOOP Spontaneous Spinning Batt
FunctionArt/Batt-tacular - Aloha Tangerine Dream - spun from a batt from TerraBellaSpun
Kitty Singles - Ophelia's Midnight - spun from hand dyed merino wool from LimeGreenJelly
Kitty Singles - Vintage PolkaDot - spun from hand dyed Falkland wool from the Yarn Wench
Kitty Singles - Banded Iguana - spun from hand dyed merino wool and tencel blend dyed by DragonFibers (colorway of the same name)
Kitty Singles - Sunfish - spun from hand dyed BFL wool from FatCatKnits

Now, I've really got to get going on some more bamboo today, though I've got some more fun wool spins coming soon!

Kitty Singles - new hand spun single ply yarns!

Well, I did pretty much what I hoped to yesterday, except instead of spinning 7 WOOL single plys, i spun 4 wool and 3 bamboo. Here is a mosaic of the 4 single plys -

Wineberry - 190 yards, thicker DK weight
Spring Blossoms - 160 yards, Worsted weight
Coral Sands - 170 yards, DK weight
Melon Blossom - 134 yards, Worsted weight

And, here are the bamboo colors. These aren't quite listed on etsy yet, but I will be listing two of the 3 skeins later today (hopefully) and the third will be listed as a custom-spin-to-order, as I do have more fiber in these colors.

That's all for now!

New Single Ply Yarns

Just a a quickie post today to show off my 3 latest single ply yarns. When I received these batches of fiber in the mail from Cloudlover, I was speechless! The colors were so deep and gorgeous! I wanted to spin them right away, but had to wait. I should have been working on more commissions yesterday, but instead I snuck in these 3 spins - (all are now on etsy here!)

Annabel Lee - 166 yards - 5.2 oz - worsted weight

Lenore - 120 yards - 4.2 oz - worsted weight

Lost - 136 yards - 5.2 oz - thicker worsted weight

New Yarns for yesterday

Here is a quickie post just showing the yarns I listed yesterday - I've got a new Squish-tastic! to list in a little while and will hopefully have pictures of that one later on. Here are yesterday's newbies, though -

The first picture is "A Clockwork Orange" Kitty Single wool single ply, the next 3 are "Summer Carnival" bamboo, and the last 2 are "Marmalade Pine bamboo."

Not sure what I'll be spinning today, but I know I've got some more of the "Clockwork Orange" color to spin, one more bamboo color to spin before my big order arrives, and a couple of art yarns ready to go, too.

Just a quickie picture post

Here are just a few pictures from the new yarns I spun up over the weekend (more coming this afternoon, too!) Clicking on the pictures should take you to the Etsy Listing.

Vegas, baby! Hand Spun Two-Ply bamboo yarn spun from two of LOOP's "Chocolate Liqueur" batts.

Then, there is "Radioactive Chance" - after working on the two-ply most of Saturday, I decided to ignore my to-do list, my to-spin list, and all the already-prepped fiber, and spin this. It's just . . . different from my normal colors so thought I'd take a chance on it . . .

Three new single plys - all from Falkland wool dyed by the Yarn Wench.

Orchid Sunset 2

Watermelon Sky
Aqua Lime Light

And, finally, another skein of Mahogany Midnight Moon as an art yarn. I love this colorway! I have about 2 oz left of it but am not sure if I want to do another art yarn skein, or a coordinating CoilySpun skein!

And, I'll probably be mentioning this every day this week - but if you are in the Madison, Wisconsin are this SATURDAY, JUNE 28 - come by the HIGH NOON SALOON for the SUMMER CRAFTACULAR! I will be there, along with many other great hand made vendors. Hours are from 10am-4pm.

That's all from me for today!

New yarns!

Some new hand spun yarns now listed -

CoilySpun - Southwest Rustic - merino wool, 52 yards, 2.5 oz

FunctionArt/Kitty Minis - Southwest Rustic - merino wool, 52 yards, 1.9 oz
Kitty Singles - Vintage PolkaDot - 150 yards, worsted weight, spun from hand dyed Falkland wool. You can click on the pictures to go the the etsy listing, or check out kittygrrlz.com as they will be listed there shortly, too.

Last night, I spun up a bright and vivid art yarn in shades of orange, pink/fuchsia, and turquoise. Here is a sneak peek (two skeins available, they will be listed later today). It was spun from merino wool hand dyed by the Yarn Wench in color "Boho".

After I get them listed this afternoon, I will be spinning up more bamboo! So, I should have at least two new skeins available tomorrow! I'll be spinning bamboo for the next couple of days, most likely, then will be returning to the art yarns. I've got an all-shades-of-blue one planned, and possible a purple/yellow one. Actually, I have a whole list of potential ones I want to spin but not the time to spin them all - yet!

I think that's it from me this morning! :)

Kitty Singles! and more . . .

Once again I haven't had a chance to blog and now I've got a couple of things to get to today . . .

First, I'd like to mention that I'm being featured on this wonderful blog. And, not only that, but she is having a give-away drawing of a fun bag of goodies later in the month. If you win, one of the items you will receive is one of my mini-skeins of Navajo-plied yarn. Please check it out!

On the spinning front, after completing my first Alchemy request, I needed to spin up a few singles - partly because I sold a few at the beginning of the month, and partly because I needed something that was a little "quicker" of a spin than the art yarns. Here are the 3 newest:

Spring Peacock

Spring Sweets

Ocean Rainbow

Single ply yarns ARE one of my newsletter April specials, so if you are interested in receiving the discount, please EMAIL ME to be added to my newsletter list. I send out only one email a month and it usually includes at least 2 special offers that last throughout the month and are ONLY for newsletter subscribers.

I also spun up some more coils the other day! This is the second batch of fiber called "Headbanger" that was hand dyed by the Yarn Wench. The other 2 skeins have already sold, but these are now available:

58 yards (Bruised Heart 4)

34 yards (Bruised Heart 3)

And, finally, I am doing a show this weekend! I will have at least 5 shawls and lots of yarn! Here is the information:
A Fair to Remember
Washington County Fair Park
