Leaves of (Ocean) Grass and Black Cherry Art yarns
So, yesterday I was supposed to be spinning bamboo for a custom request that I've had for way too long. I am horrible for not just spinning it but I was really motivated and inspired to spin a couple of art yarns. Thus, instead of spinning the bamboo, I spun these four art yarn skeins -
The top two are more "Tainted Love" but this time I'm sticking to the colorway name of "Black Cherry" because this fiber batch was so dark and wonderful and saturated that I actually spun in some black eyelash yarns along with the other colors. So these are just a bit different than previous skeins. The bottom two are spun from the colorway "Whitman", which helped inspire the name - Leaves of (Ocean) Grass. I had to add the ocean to it because there was something about it that made me think of the sea. Both were spun from merino wool handdyed by Lynn aka The Yarn Wench.
All of these are on etsy, and now, I must really finish spinning that bamboo!!

Tainted Love & the end of Free Shipping
So, yesterday I managed to list a new art yarn. Well, sort of new at least. Tainted Love is spun from the colorway Black Cherry, and I have spun it twice before. I love it! This fiber batch was a bit darker, and I used several new yarns to spin in, so it is a bit different than previous versions. I have two skeins available -

Later today I'll be listing a skein of Navajo 3-ply spun from the same color in a merino/silk blend. The merino and merino/silk "Black Cherry" fibers were both dyed by the Yarn Wench. I also spun up two single ply yarns yesterday, too! Those two skeins were spun from batts from FeltStudioUK. Should be listing those later as well.
Today, I think I'll be spinning a 2-ply from a merino/silk blend as well. This one is called "Broken Heart", hand dyed by the Yarn Wench.
Finally, this weekend is the last weekend to take advantage of my FREE SHIPPING in the USA and Half Price International Shipping offer! Starting Monday, my shipping will go back to normal - $5 per order in the USA and $10 per order international. I always ship via Priority Mail and am NOT raising my prices even though rates are going up soon. You can check out all of my yarns HERE.
I was even featured in this weekend's Etsy "Weekend Deals" article & email! Yay!
But, now it's off to have lunch - spaghetti . . . mmm . . .

New yarns!
First, I have to say YAY FOR YARNCON! It was a great show - lots of great yarn and fiber and lots of great people! Thanks to all who came out and an extra special thanks to those who purchased some of my yarns.
Second - I DO have new yarns to list this week and will slowly be working on more. So far, this is what I've got listed -
FunctionArt - Tainted Love Redux - this is the second time I spun this colorway - hand dyed merino wool dyed by the Yarn Wench - and I used mostly the same yarns with just a little variation. I also used lots of angelina for sparkle and plied with fuchsia/dark pink thread -

And, some new bamboo -
Meadow Night

Prairie Dusk Light

I have a couple more skeins of bamboo to list today and maybe tomorrow, and also two new art yarns - one will be listed later today and the other tomorrow, I think.
Garden Princess -

New yarns & Yarn Con!
One of these days I will start to post here daily again! But, for now, here is another quickie update post -
I have been spinning this week in preparation for YARN CON! YarnCon is THIS SATURDAY, October 4, at the Pulaski Park Field House in Chicago, Illinois. For all the details, CLICK HERE!
I've been spinning some bamboo and today will start in on some new art yarns! Yay! Not sure how much I'll have time to finish before Saturday, but I do know I will have at least two brand new art yarn colors.
I've also been spinning some "Squish-tastic" bulky 2-ply yarns, along with a little bit of Navajo plying - here are a couple of the most recent yarns I've finished and listed on my website and etsy.
Aqua Lime Explosion - as a Squish-tastic! and 3ply -

Tainted Love (aka Black Cherry) as a Squish-tastic!
And, Sabrina's Garden, a merino wool and silk blend Navajo 3-ply yarn -
Well, that's it for now, I've got to get spinning! I'm going to try and post some more pics tomorrow of the new art yarns, but we'll see!

Email problems & my new favorite yarn
So, apparently I can't get into my kittygrrlzinc yahoo email account!?!? If you need to contact me today, please EMAIL ME HERE. I am so mad. I am logged in all the time. All of a sudden I am trying to delete a message and it prompts me for my password. Which, how can I not know it?? But it doesn't accept it, and when I try for the password help it tells me I am providing wrong information and locked my account. GRRRR ARRGGGGHHHH . . . I guess it is a good thing that we are going to the State Fair today so all I can do is go and hope I have a response from them by the time we get home.
In other news - I wanted to post today about my new favoritest yarn!!! Here is what I wrote about it the other day -
"How this one came about -
When I got this fiber in the mail this week I was actually a little disappointed - not in the color necessarily - but because I thought it would have some of the dark green in it like the Sabrina colorways. My fault for not looking more closely at the pictures. So, I was going to relegate it to one of the bins for "later".
Then, yesterday, I went to Michaels and Joanns on the hunt for some dark purple yarns for more "Plum Divine" yarns. I happened to pick up 3 different dark plum shades of yarn.
Last night, while organizing and re-organizing, I realized that some of the dark yarns I got would work really well with this colorway. And, the pinks to contrast with the darks . . . and I also had that dark brown"Punk" yarn . . . and the dark blues used in "Mahogany Peacock".
and, before I knew it, I had a new art yarn planned. Last night, the name I had thought of was "Plum Cherry Blues" - my typical color-based name . . . but then this morning while spinning it there was something about it that reminded me of the 80s . . . maybe that purple and pink combination? - and the song Tainted Love popped into my head - thus, the new name for the yarn!
It is spun from merino wool hand dyed by the Yarn Wench in color "Black Cherry" and has novelty yarns in dark plum, dark blue, dark brown, and bright pink spun in along with 3 colors of angelina and plied with matching pink thread.
Totally awesome! :) "

I also spun up a new single ply yarn the other day - from an alpaca/merino/silk blend -
I also spun up two more skeins of "Radioactive Chance" -

I also have a new Novel-Ply yarn up at my website - this one will be on etsy later and I also have more Novel-Ply yarns ready to be listed soon. I was hoping to get most of them listed today and tomorrow. Here is the one that is already up on my site -

Okay, I think that is it from me this morning. Hopefully, I will hear from yahoo and be able to get back into my email account soon, but in the mean time - I've got to get ready to go to the Wisconsin State Fair today!
